Good stuff going on this weekend and into next week! Come join us for whatever strikes your fancy! Jewish communities across Long Island will roll out yoga mats to prepare body and soul for the majesty of Shabbat. Join us for a soul-centering yoga session infused with the symbolism and meaning of Kabbalat Shabbat. Bring a mat (if you have one) and a towel. Led by Rabbi Lina and Barbara Kremen. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Torah Study: Our portion includes the verses: There shall be one law for you and for the resident stranger; it shall be a law for all time throughout the ages. You and the stranger shall be alike before the LORD; the same ritual and the same rule shall apply to you and to the stranger who resides among you. (Numbers 15:15-16). There's a lot of discussion about the stranger in our midst - what does the tradition say? Welcoming the month of Tammuz: July 2 at 6:30 pm. Tradition dates the incident of the golden calf to the 17th of Tammuz - and suggests that women did not take part. Women had a different kind of faith. What does faith mean to you? How do you strengthen it? For details and tickets please visit the Cinema Arts Centre website Members should RSVP to the office (631)367-4589
